Lots of news today! Here we go!
I’ll give you some OutSupport news first, because you’ll want to be aware of what’s going on!
First, hopefully many of you will join us Monday, March 26 for our Educational Program, Justice for All, with our special speakers Gwen Stembridge from Equality Ohio, and James Knapp from TransOhio to give us all important information about the law and LGBTQ Ohioans.

Secondly, please note!! Our May meeting will be changed from the 4th Monday of the month to the 2nd Monday, for May ONLY!! The 4th Monday is Memorial Day, and the church is available on the 14th. SO PLEASE CHANGE THE DATE IN YOUR CALENDAR! Happy Memorial Day, and the June meeting will resume our regular 4th Monday meetings. May 14    May 14   May 14   May 14    May 14!!!!!!!
Kent State’s Lavender Graduation will take place on Friday, April 13th from 6:00-8:30pm in the KSU Ballroom! This is a wonderful ceremony, honoring the LGBTQ Graduates in a very special way!! Also, for LGBTQ alumni, a reception will be held the hour prior to the LavGrad! Also! On April 7,  a drag competition with Akron U called Battle for the Wagon Heel (teehee) will be something to attend! Proceeds from this event will replenish the LGBTQ+ Emergency Fund.

TransOhio will be hosting it’s 10th Annual Transgender Symposium April 27-29 at THE Ohio State University Student Union. “Ten Years of Progress and the Challenges Ahead” is this years theme.  This is growing every year, and the place to be for Trans and GF information and education!  For further info and to register:   www.transohio.org
Our friends at CLAW (Cleveland Leather Awareness Weekend) will also be having their fundraising weekend April 26-29 in Cleveland! Details at www.clawinfo.org   CLAW has been a generous donor to OutSupport since we formed 4 years ago…thanks to all our friends at CLAW!!!

Our friends at the Gay Community Endowment Fund will be having their 2018 Annual Meeting on Thursday, April 19 from 5:00-7:30pm at the beautiful Akron Civic Theatre! This event will benefit the GCEF Scholarship Fund.  Cost $25 per person  RSVP by April 12!!
This organization is a generous one, financially supporting many LGBTQ+ organizations in NEOhio, including OutSupport! Thank you so much GCEF!!
Teen Pride Network and GLSEN NEOhio will be hosting BREAK THE SILENCE! MAKE SOME NOISE! on Friday, April 27, from 7:00-9:30 at the Unitarian Universalist Church in Fairlawn. For LGBTQ+ Older Adults!! Housing for the LGBTQ Older Adult communities are becoming more and more available…just thought you may want to know about them…for yourself or a friend!
A Place for Us is a 55 and older senior apartment complex for LGBTQ+ seniors in the westside of Cleveland. www.apfuhousing.com
Rainbow Steps, Ltd is a new organization that are offering Residential Assisted Living Homes for LGBTQ+ folks who need special care. These are homes, and 5-10 seniors living in a home like setting, with varying degrees of daily living assistance and medication reminders, etc…    There are homes open in Hudson and Oberlin, and I understand they plan on opening several others around NEOhio. A special artistic event will be held for LGBTQ+ folks who have experienced the loss of a loved one through the Hospice of the Western Reserve  at the Elizabeth Severance Prentiss Bereavement Center on 2 Tuesdays (June 5 & 12). Healing Arts Program, Art Therapy Event: Mandela Plates. Participants are encouraged to bring your loved ones favorite food to share on the plates created the1st session. Save The Dates for the play BENT at the Beck Center for the Performing Arts June 1-July 1, 2018. This is a play about the persecution of homosexuals by the Nazis. This play has helped to increase awareness and education about this part of that dark time. Adult Content.

Last, but not least, I was invited to attend the Plexus Annual meeting last week. What a great group of people!! They are always looking for new members, and are trying to reach out to “non-Cleveland” folks 🙂  If you are a business person, this is the group for you!
