Well, it’s almost here! Warm weather awaits and Pride season is just around the corner!!
Here are some interesting tidbits, and also some of our areas Pride dates for your calendar!!
First of all, Medina Hospital is happy to welcome a new chaplain who is a friend to the LGBTQ community, and welcomes any who have need of support of a spiritual nature. He is trained in a range of spiritual traditions, and also is happy to talk to non-believers. His name is Dennis Wendling, and can be reached at 330-721-5188 or WENDLID@ccf.org Happy to have more lgbtq friendly people here in Medina!
Secondly, I read with interest last weekend (April21) edition of The Medina Post, which had a nice write-up of an Inde movie that has an LGBTQ theme, which was written by a Medina HS grad, called “Swipe Right”. The movie was filmed in Medina and Cleveland, and it partnered with the LGBT Community Center in Cleveland for it’s premiere last fall. Google The Medina Post, April 21 in the “Buzz Around Town” pg.2. Cool!
Highland High School GSA is presenting a panel discussion on May 10 called ” Interfaith Panel Discussion: Reconciling Queer Identities with Faith” This promises to be a very interesting panel discussion about the challenges that many faith traditions struggle with. The panel will have spiritual leaders who are either LGBTQ or Allies. Light refreshments afterwards. RSVP to RMurray@highlandschools.org so they have the correct amount of snacks! Flyer attached!
OutSupport‘s next Support group meeting will be May 14! Have a wonderful Memorial Day Holiday, and we will be back on schedule for our June 25 meeting!

There! Your whole summer weekend planner in a nutshell!!:)) OutSupport will again be marching in the July 4th parade…I hope to see many of you join in, as we help celebrate Medina’s Bi-Centennial by representing the LGBTQ community! If anyone is interested in forming a task force for a possible event on the Square, let me know! Its hard to put an event together, and many hands make light work…if you might want to add Medina to the PRIDE list, let me know!
