Happy PRIDE Month, friends!!
We are hoping that you are celebrating PRIDE in any way that is good for you to celebrate! While OutSupport won’t be having a PRIDE specific event, we are going to be making our PRIDE well known in Medina in the next few weeks! Join us at any of these upcoming events!
The most important thing you can do in Medina is join supporters of the Nondiscrimination Ordinance meetings that will be coming up. JUNE 17, 2019 at 7:00pm at MEDINA CITY HALL,
132 N. Elmwood Ave. in Medina. The Special Legislation Committee hearing will be held, and the SLC is anticipated to vote to have the Ordinance pass to the Finance Committee, and then to Full Council. Councilmen Bill Lamb and Eric Heffinger, both supporters of the Ordinance, have advised that we, again, pack the house! Please show up for Equality, especially if you live in or near Medina! When this is passed out of committee, it is possible that the following weeks could be the meetings where hearings will take place, and a final vote will take place. Please keep June 24 and July 7 open on your calendar, and keep an eye on your email and Facebook page, and we will advise whatever we know as far as further meetings. If you can’t come to Medina on the 17th, please send your positive thoughts, highest intentions, or prayers for this to pass, and move quickly for a final vote!
June 24 is our regularly scheduled monthly support meeting. If Medina City Council decides that June 24 is the next hearing date for the Ordinance, we will cancel the meeting to make sure everyone can attend the Medina City Council meeting. Again, we will let you know as soon as we know.
OutSupport will be present at the Pizza Palooza on the Medina Square on Saturday, June 15 from 9-1! Stop by and pick up a rainbow flag to show solidarity and support!
M2G2 will be having another Happy Hour on Thursday, June 27 from 5:30-7:30 at Tres Potrillos Mexican Restaurant, 3571 Medina Road! All are welcome to join the group for a friendly, social group!! Also, there is a Facebook group for M2G2, if you’d like to keep up to date on additional social happenings!
OutSupport will be marching in the Medina July 4th Parade again! Please join us to show Medina that there is support and advocacy right in this hometown! Each year when we walk in this annual citywide parade, I think about a young person watching the parade who may not be out or is questioning his/her/their sexuality or gender identity, and might feel really happy seeing rainbow /transgender flags proudly displayed in Medina. Being a presence really counts, especially in towns like Medina. If you’d like to march with us, please park at the Medina High School parking lot, look for rainbow flags, and join us at 3:30. Parade steps off at 4:00 sharp! There will be papers to sign for all parade participants, available at the parking lot. Flags provided or BYO!!
Cleveland LGBT Center will be opening it’s new, amazing facility with a Grand Opening on Friday, June 14 at 12:00! We are so excited for Cleveland folks to have a brand new center to be a hub for all of the LGBTQ activities in and around Cleveland !!!Congratulations !!!!

One of the groups that will operate out of the Center will be SAGE, which organizes around issues related to LGBTQ Elders. Attached, please find an invitation to their Summer Sizzle and a new schedule of events, specific to LGBTQ Elders! So happy to see activities for all ages!!
Lastly, today is the 3 year anniversary of the Pulse nightclub shooting. Take a moment today to honor those who were taken from us too early, and do what you can to stop homophobia and gun violence. Peace to you all.
