OutSupport has been collaborating with the Medina County Health Department for 2 years now, attempting to educate the public about tobacco and LGBTQ+ concerns. Attached, please find a flyer about the collaboration, and also a tobacco survey (with a chance to win a$50 gift card!) that would help the health dept. with information they need to help Medina County be healthier!
Also attached is HIV information about services they provide. We are lucky to have an amazing health department in Medina County. You don’t have to live in Medina County to utilize many of their services, either!

Akron Children’s Hospital will be offering a conference called Adolescent Health Update on Friday, Nov. 11 from 8:00am-4:30pm. the majority of what will be discussed will be about LGBTQ+ youth and other issues that impact all youth. CEUs for physicians and psychologists.
For more information and to register (registration deadline Nov. 4; On Demand is also available.). www.akronchildrens.org/adhealth

North Coast Men’s Chorus will be offering :Jingle All the Way!” on Dec. 10 and 11 at the Maltz Center for Performing Arts…they always put on a great show! They are also accepting donations and are having a fundraising season now…please consider donating to this fabulous, talented and fun musical group! www.ncmchorus.org

OutSupport has been happy to provide 4 youth in NEOhio with a new binder in October. If you know a teen that needs one, please contact us…we are happy to provide these to youth for free!

Tomorrow, the Ohio Board of Education Executive Committee will be making some decisions about LGBTQ+ youth and how they will (and will not) be treated at schools in Ohio. Please contact the BoE and tell them to uphold Title IX protections for specifically, trans youth. If you are available tomorrow to go to Columbus, TransOhio will be organizing a rally. Please join if you are available at 12:30pm at 25 South Front St. Columbus. The decision about the resolution will be critical for LGBTQ+ youth in Ohio, and irreparably harm them and the trust they have in Ohio institutions.

Lastly, one of the only methods of making change in this country is at the voting booth. This election is absolutely critical for the health and well being of LGBTQ+ folx nationwide. If you are registered to vote, we encourage you to learn who is supportive of LGBTQ+ rights (and who is not!). The Ohio Legislature is full of legislators who are doing harm as we speak, and it’s important to vote them out! Also, with the Dobb’s decision last summer, and conversation among the justices about reviewing marriage equality, among other important social justice issues, please know how important your vote is. It could truly make a difference here in Ohio, and nationwide. November 8 is Election Day, but you can vote at your local Board of Elections every day between now and then, starting October 31. Please vote, for your sake, for your children’s sake, and for equality’s sake.

Kindly,
Sandy
